The amount of sexual innuendos in the Harry Potter books is so entertaining.
- “Harry stuffed his wand hastily back into his jeans and tried to look innocent.”
- “Can I have a look at Uranus, too, Lavendar?”
- “What do you mean I’m not brave in bed?”
- “Something silver white, something enormous erupted from the end of his wand.” (this is a classic, obviously)
- “Whoops, my wand is a little over-excited.”
- “Instead he contented himself with scrawling a note to Ron: ‘Let’s do it tonight.’ “
- ” ‘She tasted disgusting, worse than Gurdyroots! Okay, Ron, come here so I can do you…’ “
- “There was a great deal of clattering and banging coming from overhead: Harry wondered what Luna could be doing.”
- “He bit hard on his pillow, to stop himself from making a noise.”

The sound of a page turning is music to my ears. Perhaps we’re too absorbed in the printed words to even notice that we are the world’s greatest musicians. We compose silent symphonies of urgency, of anticipation and suspense as we fall in love with the printed words, merging fiction and reality to create a world that’s entirely our own. We absorb each and every word as our gentle fingertips flip through the countless pages, the countless novels; we’re free from distractions and from time.
We may be lovers of words and of life, but that is not all we are. We are a pair of open ears, we are composers, and we will always be the world’s most silent musicians.

“It is possible to go back and forth between feeling nothing and missing everything. It’s awful. But it’s also refreshing to feel- let yourself miss it. You can’t touch those memories without getting burned, but being burned is liberating. Make us horridly human.”
